Michael Ames leads the Data Science team at Kount, an Equifax Company where he brings more than 20 years of experience in developing machine learning solutions designed to mitigate fraud, waste, and abuse. His career includes leadership roles at AWS, where he spearheaded bringing innovative fraud detection services to market, and with the SAS Emerging Technology Group where he focused on developing advancements in machine learning, streaming, and graph analytics for the financial services and government sectors.

Beyond his industry work, Michael is an adjunct professor at Wake Forest University where he teaches Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Analytics courses to the next generation of data scientists. He is a sought after speaker on topics that cover interpretable AI and ML advancements in fraud prevention. He holds a BBA in Economics from the University of Georgia and an MBA from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
